Job Overview
The Children’s Minister will lead ministry to families inside the Church and missions outreach to families outside the Church.

Responsibilities and Duties - Ministry
- Cast the vision for a vibrant Children’s Ministry that will allow kids to experience God—not just learn about Him—in a relevant and relational way.
- Collaborate with Youth Minister and Ministry Council to develop and implement ministry and discipleship for children and families.
- Recruit, train, and disciple a team of Children’s Ministry teachers and volunteers. Develop a dynamic and committed team of parents and other church members to serve on the Children’s Ministry Team so that there can be not just in-reach but OUTREACH to families not attending Church anywhere.
- Oversee & mentor the Nursery Minister who is responsible for the nurturing care of children from birth through 3 years old.
- Equip parents with skills and resources to disciple their children.
- Develop and maintain relationships with children and their families.
- Work with Missions Team and Youth Ministry to create/identify/promote opportunities for children and families to serve together in the church and community.
- Work with team of volunteers to plan and organize special events (e.g., Seeking the Savior, Parenting with Purpose workshops).
- Support children and families by attending school and community events in which they are participating.
Responsibilities and Duties – Administrative
- Work with Youth Minister to review and select curriculum for Sunday School and other classes/events where there is overlap within families.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers, volunteers, and all levels of church leadership (utilizing e-mail, social media, handwritten notes, etc.).
- Utilize the church’s weekly newsletter to highlight and promote Children’s Ministry by submitting news, photos, and other material.
- Prepare and manage annual budget for Children’s Ministry.
- Maintain Children’s Ministry roll, including birthdays, family contact information, etc.
- Maintain Resource Room and children’s classrooms, including annual audit of materials and regular inspection of toys and other items; purchase supplies and other items as needed.
- Develop and implement policies for safety and security of children, including but not limited to constant use of MinistrySafe practices, and check-in/check-out technology.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and retreats as directed (e.g., Staff, Children’s Ministry team & Ministry Council meetings).
- Other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
Qualifications
- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity and a close, consistent walk with Him.
- Knowledge of the Bible.
- Servant-hearted & self-motivated.
- Passion for ministry to children and families.
- Commitment to church’s theological stance.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills are needed & a college degree is preferred.
